NASA map shows what Antarctica would look like without ice – Technology & Science – CBC News

The image below is  “Bedmap2”, a high resolution image compiled from the British Antarctic Survey and NASA’s ICESat satellite.  It shows what Antarctica would look like minus its cap of ice and snow.  A fascinating map; imagine what minerals and what dinosaur bones would become available to scientists if we could just strip back the layers for real.  For more on what this science mission reveals, check out the story.
