The image below is “Bedmap2”, a high resolution image compiled from the British Antarctic Survey and NASA’s ICESat satellite. It shows what Antarctica would look like minus its cap of ice and snow. A fascinating map; imagine what minerals and what dinosaur bones would become available to scientists if we could just strip back the layers for real.
